The Earth, Bagels and a Wasp

So I went traveling into outer space.* I took a photo before I left the earth.

    is that outerspace picture one taken by those guys at MIT who used a weatherballoon?

    Actually, that photos is from an airplane. I opened the windowshade, and thought, "Whoa... what altitude is this? It seems higher then usual. Is that blue-black stuff outer space?"
